Adelsheim
AVA - Chehalem Mountains, Oregon
Adelsheim Vineyard strives to make wines of elegance and balance, wines that reflect the unique flavours and textures that grow in the Willamette Valley. They use a restrained approach that relies on decades of experience to express the uniqueness of each vineyard and each vintage.
Most of Adelsheim’s eleven estate vineyards are on the Chehalem Mountains (pronounced “Sha-HAY-lem”), now a highly-respected viticultural area within Oregon’s north Willamette Valley. Their history is closely tied to this area. They planted the original vineyard there in 1972 and was the first winery built in these mountains. They are true believers in the unique pleasures of Pinot noir and the amazing white wines of Oregon’s north Willamette Valley. The singular climate and the inimitable sites of this place are what allows them to create these memorable wines. They also work closely with colleagues to promote the viticultural regions of the State and to share information about grape-growing and winemaking techniques.
